There are some brazen criminals in the world today, but this video out of Brazil takes it to a completely new level. In what starts out as a boring, generic on-the-street interview, things quickly turn frightening.

Interviewer Eduardo Tchao, working for RJTV, went to the heart of Rio De Janeiro to ask a few locals about the high crime rate in the area. In an ironic turn of events, a thief attempted to snatch the necklace of a woman while being interviewed.

Instantly, the interviewer ran after the thief. The video description, which was translated, says that the thief wasn’t successful nor was caught either.

There were 406 killings in the city and surrounding state in August alone last year, an increase of 40 per cent on the year before, according to the Daily Mail. There were also 629 robberies on public transport in August, while muggings rose by almost 40 per cent as well.

An old, local news interview of Michael Phelps has surfaced after the sports producer shared the excerpt on Reddit. The interview happened in June 2001, after Phelps attended, and failed to medal at, the 2000 Summer Olympics. Phelps talked about his hopes of earning a gold medal at the 2004 Olympics.

As we already know, he bested that goal, winning eight medals—six of them gold—at the 2004 games.

According to a report from the Nikkei Asian Review, Apple will be releasing the iPhone 6 sometime in September. The report cites suppliers as ramping up production to meet the September release date. This corroborates an earlier report that suppliers were about to ramp up production.

The report from Nikkei says the iPhone would come in two screen sizes, 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch, turning the iPhone into a phablet—a murky, phone/tablet middle ground.

Apple is the only manufacturer still offering four-inch screens, which adorn the iPhone 5 and 5S. Android, Apple’s biggest competitor, has a slew of phones from HTC and Samsung that have five-inch screens.

In addition to the larger screen, Nikkei says that Apple will significantly increase screen resolution as well. Will we finally see an updated version of the retina display on the iPhone? Let’s hope so.

The iPhone 6 comes at a time where many feel Apple hasn’t had a really innovative product in a while.

According to Brian Marshall at ISI, the iPhone 6 will be the “mother lode” of upgrade cycles for Apple. Not only will the larger screens mark a significant departure from older iPhones, but it will vary drastically in design and features as well, which Marshal expects to lead to big sales.

Snickers has released a new ad in Australia that has good intentions, though the execution is questionable. The commercial opens up at a construction scene where men are lined up watching women walk down the street.

The screen goes black and reads, “What happens when builders aren’t themselves?”

The builders then shouted loud, empowering statements at the women about gender equality and ending misogyny. At the end of the commercial, the screen reads “You’re not you when you’re hungry.”

Snickers had the right idea with the commercial, but it seems to imply that men are sexist misogynistic pigs without a full stomach. Maybe I’m being overly sensitive, I may just be hungry.

Everyone remembers the episode where Homer Simpson famously landed in a dumpster, crossing over from Springfield to the real world. Well, Homer is jumping universes again on May 4 in an episode titled “Brick Like Me.”

In the 550th episode of the show, Homer wakes up in a world where his family and everyone in Springfield are made of Legos. Homer must figure out how to get back to his Springfield, or be stuck in LEGO Springfield forever. Doh!

Cue promotional tie in!

In conjunction with the episode, Lego will release a new series of The Simpsons minifigures. The 16-piece series of minifigures include Bart, Homer, Ralph, Nelson, Apu, and more. These characters will be available starting May 1 at major retailers, brick-and-mortar LEGO Stores and at lego.com for $3.99 each.

This release of figurines comes after a February release of a LEGO construction set of the Simpson’s unmistakable two-story home. The toy line coming in May will give fans an opportunity to enjoy the figurines without having to purchase the home, but come on, the house is pretty damn cool.

King Digital Entertainment, the company behind the wildly addicting game you’re probably playing instead of reading this article, made its IPO debut today.

Joining the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker “KING,” shares opened at $22.50, valuing the company at $7.6 billion. It ended the day lower by 15 percent.

King isn’t the first mobile gaming company to go public. Zynga, the makers behind the highly successful Facebook game Farmville, went public in 2011 with a $7 billion valuation. In February 2012, Zynga’s stock price hit a peak of $14.69 per share, but has been on a downward decline ever since. Currently, Zynga trades around $5.80 a share. The company hasn’t been able to match its initial success that was brought by Farmville.

King is basking in the success of Candy Crush Saga, a mobile game, and investors are hoping the company can offer more than just a one-hit wonder.

There are additional worries about how King records how many users it has, an important metric for many prospective investors.

An individual playing Candy Crush on his cell phone while commuting to work and then later plays Candy Crush on his computer during their lunch break would be counted as two users. If the person then played on a tablet during the same period, he would be counted as three users,” said a report from PrivCo.com.

King says it Candy Crush Saga averages about 93 million daily users, according to the company. While most of its games are free to play, King makes its revenue off selling digital items to players who are looking for slight, in-game advantages. With the free-to-play model dominating the mobile gaming market, King is betting on a dedicated swath of users to continue paying for in-game extras. If any subset of those players were to leave, say for another addicting game, King would lose a majority of its revenue stream—a fear many investors have been vocal about.

King reported annual revenue of $1.9 billion and a profit of $568 million last year. These numbers are up from $164 million and $8 million, respectively, in 2012.
