This mad scientist created an electric-powered bike that looks similar to the one the Caped Crusader tooled around on in Gotham.

The YouTube description reads,

An experimental Batpod inspired vehicle with Alltrax AXE 4844 controller running Mars ME0709 electric motor. This is designed and built specially for my two 10 and 12 year old kids. Battery pack consists of 4 lead-acid car batteries giving maximum of 50 volts and top speed is set to around 60km/h (37mph).

 

The rattling noise comes from the front sprocket as it is very small. I am considering to replace the chain with a belt drive to make it completely silent.”

Many public schools have “Valentine’s Day Parties” on this special day where students exchange store-bought Valentines and overpriced “fun-sized” packages of candy. In line with the ethos of modern education and child-rearing (every participant gets a prize, everyone gets a valentine, etc.), nobody gets left out. Mostly gone are the handwritten love letters. This 18-year-old skier is living the dream. While most kids his age are stuck in high school or making their way out into the scary real world for the first time, Torin Yater-Wallace is busy representing the stars and stripes over in Sochi. The Aspen-based freestyle skier is not letting the hustle and bustle of the Winter Games trip him up. It looks like Yater-Wallace has had plenty of down time to stop and smell the flowers, if you catch my drift.

It’s easy to rip on Yater-Wallace as a rich stoner from Colorado, but it turns out that Yater-Wallace has been using money earned from his professional skiing to support his family. In 2010, the then-14-year-old and his family had to stay at the apartments of family friends as Yater-Wallace’s father declared bankruptcy. Now, the family is on the up-and-up and their son is representing his nation at the Olympics.

Parking tickets are hated everywhere in the world, it’s a known scientific fact. It’s common courtesy to inform someone who’s sitting in their car while it’s running that they could receive a ticket, and give them a chance to comply. If you’re this brazen parking enforcement officer, you just march right up to their car and stick a ticket under their wiper blades while they’re still inside, give no explanation and then dip out.

Their reactions are priceless. From foaming at the mouth, to smiling and feeling like an idiot. It’s amazing how $5 and a kind note can lift someone’s spirits. You just have to trick them into thinking they have to pay a fine first.

Subaru fans are known for their extreme brand loyalty. So it’s not too surprising that this Craigslist poster is reluctant to sell his 2003 WRX. Willing to let it go for the low, low price of “what I paid for it 10 years ago minus $400,” this guy is the antithesis of the high-pressure car salesman. Rather than go through the trouble of snapping detailed shots of every nook and cranny, you get to see as little of the car as possible. Pictures of the odometer aren’t present either, but the potential suitor is informed that this majestic metal steed has only 85,000 city miles on it: “…but rest assured that most of those 85k miles were spent at full throttle, rapidly accelerating in and out of 7-11 parking lots.”

The seller makes it clear that the act of selling his beloved WRX was brought on by his significant other, who is presumably with child now. Rather than ditch the sweet ride of his glory days for a “minivan/SUV atrocity with a big enough rear window to put those infuriating family stickers on,” this brave soul decided to fly in the face of convention and create the anti-advertisement.

But actually, if this is not a guerilla marketing ploy by Subaru, he could find himself getting close to that 2003 sticker price if this ad truly becomes e-famous.

If you’re like me, then you loved the shit out of Chicken McNuggets as a kid, and are still privy to the occasional box of 20 ‘nugs when McFood is the only option around. A long-viral picture of a big box of pink bullshit has often been associated with chicken nuggets from McDonald’s. The problem is, that picture isn’t even a picture of chicken. This nice McCanadian is here to set the record straight, while showing us where McNuggets are born (Canadian McNugs, at least).

Snopes says that the viral picture is actually an example of Mechanically Separated Meat, a terrible-sounding animal byproduct that is found in many hot dogs and chicken nuggets, but not McNuggets: Snopes states that McDonald’s nuggets have been free of MSM since ’03.

Try sitting through this video without snoozing. Better yet, try driving through, writing about, or thinking about the state of Iowa without snoozing. The true definition of a flyover state, this land of corn and alcohol abuse is somehow home to NCAA Track and Field’s premier event, the Drake Relays. This event has been going on since 1910 and is regarded as a proving ground for many of the nation’s top sprinters, throwers and so on. So, it should be no surprise that big, bigthings are underway for the event’s 114th rendition this spring.

If you can make it farther through that sleep aid of a press conference than I did (a minute and a half), you are more patient than me. To cut to the chase, this year the Drake Relays will hold their high jump event in a produce section in an Iowa grocery store.

This is the most Iowa promotional video ever. Most gimmicky athletic promotions feature an over-the-top carnival barker-styled promoter. Not in Iowa. Brian Brown, director of the Drake Relays is not a very good hype man, if you’re still awake enough to notice. Although, his rhyme game is tip-top: “we will high jump at Hy-Vee in Waukee,” is pure poetry. But, he’s fighting an un-winnable war. Nobody outside of the track and field community gives a shit about the high jump, which is pretty much the opposite of limbo. Instead of dancing as low as possible, you jump over it! Holy shit that’s exciting! Let’s find a way to work cauliflower in there somewhere and we’ve got gold! We’re going to put Waukee on the map!

The Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Minnesota Timberwolves last night, but they got some major help.

That’s Gorgui Dieng, Senegal native and rookie center for the Timberwolves forgetting he was on defense. All he had to do was catch the ball, swat it away, anything except what he did. Poor Gorgui. The 6’11” big man must have felt like the smallest man in Minny after that one. But, as bad as that play was, you will not believe how bad this offensive foul call was.

The Toronto Raptors were down 105-99 while visiting Sacramento last night. With 25 seconds left, Kyle Lowry of the Raptors knocks down a beautiful clutch three as he gets knocked to the floor. There’s a whistle, and it looks like an apparent four point play opportunity. Except it wasn’t at all.

I’ve watched this over and over and see no offensive foul. The technical is understandable, under the new rules you can’t run away from a play in protest. Did the Raptors play a sloppy game or were the refs just favoring the Kings? It would take a re-watch of a Kings-Raptors game, so I’ll leave that up to someone else. But, the Kings shot 51 free throws against the Canadian club, and made 41 of them in a game that was only decided by 8 points. Ouch.
