With rumors swirling of the iPhone 6 plaguing the Internet, a new report suggests that Apple is about to ramp up production in anticipation for the iPhone 6.

Pegatron, A manufacturing partner of Apple, is opening up new factory space and recruiting workers to build the iPhone 6, at least according to a report from Reuters. The report adds fuel to Apple’s fire surrounding what the next-generation iPhone will be.

The original report, which was from Commercial Times and translated by Reuters, cited unnamed sources that production of the iPhone 6 would begin in the second quarter of this year.

According to Reuters, Pegatron chief financial officer and spokesman Charles Lin had no comment on the report. Inquiries about the report made to Hon Hai seeking comment went unanswered.

Of course, Pegatron isn’t the only factory expected to build the iPhone 6. The Commercial Times also reported, citing more unnamed sources, that Hon Hai Precision Industry, more infamously known as Foxconn, will be the primary manufacturing location of Apple’s flagship phone.

Apple has, in usual fashion, declined to comment about the report on when production will begin. Not much is known about the iPhone 6, though many rumors are indicating that it will offer a larger screen, better camera and more computing power.

Missing from the report from the Commercial Times is when the phone is expected to hit retailers’ shelves.

The report is promising that more official news of the iPhone 6 should be soon forthcoming. However, the report is just adding to the media swirl around the phone. There has been no date announced of when the iPhone 6 will be unveiled, but it should be paired with the release of iOS 8, which is adding a slew of health related applications.

What is certain is that as the launch of the iPhone draws near, more rumors will swirl about what Apple has planned next.
