Have You Noticed New York Subway Conductors Have Gotten Friendlier?
At every subway platform in New York City, visitors are greeted with a nod and a point to the air as if it were some sort of new greeting agreed upon by the Conductor’s Union. What’s really going on with the points is a new conductor rule that states they must point to a black and white striped sign on the platform to prove that they’re paying attention, not sleeping, and/or actually on board the train.
A few clever artists took advantage of the fact that it’s mandatory for these conductors to point at the sign…
For the most part the signs were pretty light-hearted.
