Fast food workers across major cities are striking for better wages and the right to unionize without fear of repercussions. They’re demanding $15 per hour wages—nearly double what a bulk of fast food workers receive. And according to research conducted by the University of Kansas, giving them what they demand is more than doable—by increasing McDonald’s menu items by just 17 cents per dollar, for instance, every employee of the company would be able to double their salary.
