Popular Facebook Page ‘I F*cking Love Science’ Gets Its Own TV Show
The immensely popular Facebook page I F*cking Love Science is set to get its own show on the Science Channel.
Craig Ferguson, the host of CBS’s Late Late Show and now executive producer of I F*cking Love Science, made the announcement at the SXSW festival on Saturday that Discovery is picking up the show, having already featured some of the Facebook page’s videos on its online channel last year.
The show will feature a mix of live-action, animations, and recreations of scientific topics in each 60-minute episode. Ferguson said in the announcement, “If you know anything about me, you know I love science.”
In the videotaped message played to a crowd of 3,000 at the Science Channel’s SXSW event, Ferguson told the audience to, “Think of it [the show] as a late night Google search that goes a hundred pages deep until things get weird—and then you just keep going.”
Elise Andrew launched the I Fucking Love Science page in 2012. In just two years, the page has garnered over 10 million ‘likes’ by fans that tune-in daily for the page’s highly-shareable content. If the show—set to debut at the end of this year—gets half as many views as the Facebook page, it’s bound to be a hit.
